The fourth day of the BBC Media Training continued today at Madang Star, bringing together journalists from across the Momase Region to strengthen their skills in modern journalism.

The training featured presentations from Media Council of PNG President Neville Choi, Mathew Vari, Digital Director at Post-Courier ,Secretary of the Media Council of PNG,Belinda Kora and the Project Coordinator with BBC Media Action in Papua New Guinea,Reilly KanamonSessions focused on online publishing, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism and its challenges, responsible use of social media, the Media Code of Ethics, and the role of women in the media industry.

As part of today’s program, the training team visited Divine Word University, where they spoke with Communication Arts students about careers in journalism and the evolving media landscape. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the presenters on issues relating to the media profession.

The week-long training aims to equip journalists with the knowledge and practical skills needed to adapt to the rapidly changing digital media environment while upholding professional and ethical standards.
